Ortep-3 for Windows (version 2014.1)

Ortep-3 for Windows is supplied as a single zip file,which contains the 
setup program SETUP.EXE. Running this program will
install the following files into the requested directory :

ORTEP.EXE         - the 32-bit executable (Window NT/2000/XP/VISTA/7/8)
ORTTEXTSERVER.EXE - TextServer program for Ortep
WGXSYS01.EXE      - system executable for version checking
SALFLIBC.DLL      - Salford run-time library 
CIFTBX304.DLL     - CIF parsing library 
WGXLIBxx.DLL      - WinGX system DLL's


ORTEP3.PDF        - Program manual
RGBCOLS.DEF       - RGB colour definitions (to modify and add colours)
ATOMCOLS.DEF      - to define colours for all atomic species
SGINFO.DAT        - space group information
README.TXT        - this file

After running the setup program you will need to set an environment variable

Variable name  :: ORTEPDIR
Variable value :: <fullpath of the installation directory of Ortep3 for Windows> 

The value is a character string - for a default installation, this will be
 "c:\ortep3" (without the quotes of course)

Ortep-3 for Windows has been extensively tested on Windows 2000/XP/7

It requires at least 32Mb RAM memory, and an IBM-compatible PC
